Miata - sell me your feminine car

I saw a cream colored GTV driving around just a few weeks ago.
Mentioned the sighting to a neighbor turns out he used to own one.

Wanted a TR-4 in my younger days, 'almost' had it a few times.
First one was black, 1964 iirc owned by a student at N.C. State.
Second one was red, maybe a 4a, that didn't work out either.
Loved the view from driver seat, wood dash & that long narrow
hood with the headlight humps leading the way.

Back in '70s a friend felt bored w/ his pony cars, wanted something
more 'exotic'. He found a black & gold Europa John Player Special
in Atlanta as his dream car. Looked almost new when he got it but
that didn't last long. Other patrons of the night spots he visited
couldn't see it due to color and size so corners of the fibre glass
body soon scuffed and/or cracked. Then one night driving home
he managed to clobber one of those old smudge pots they used
to mark road construction areas before the invention of the blinking
light or orange traffic cone. Smudge Pot 7 Lotus nose 0. If that didn't
wear the 'exotic' factor off the fun of getting in & out of it and comfort
of a black Lotus in Georgia did. Another acquaintance bought the Lotus
and it soon joined the other blown up and/or wrecked junkers in his yard.

Ahhh yes, the memories! Cheaper to own than the vehicles and take up
much less space.

That's a shame about the JPS. Many a Lotus got used up by a kid back in the day. Mine managed to survive me and I've often wondered what it's fate was after that.
