Most Memorable Meal.

Happy Anniversary to you and your bride!👩‍❤️‍👨

I enjoy seeing food presentations like those.
It's been quite some time though(maybe 15 years ago at Blue Ridge Grill I took my wife for our 15 yr anniversary, very memorable)
Our 30 year we ended up in Athens eating loaded fries and having some good beer at Akademia Brewing 😋

Most memorable was the 23rd. I grilled some fat ribeyes, sweet potato and made a nice spinach salad. We sat down to eat on the patio and she kinda picked her chair up to scooch closer to me and the small diameter chair leg landed on my barefoot #2 toe.

My wife and I celebrated our first anniversary, and treated ourselves to a wonderful dinner at Nadair. We both love cooking and higher end restaurants. This was easily my favorite dining experience.

All night on a Greyhound to New Orleans. Lunch stop in Godknowsburg. Found a bar around the corner for one of my most memorable meals:. A pickled egg and a Bud long neck. Still savoring fifty years later.

When I was young all the Monsanto reps would take my father and myself to some of the most uppity restaurants in the states. From Florida to Chicago and all I between. Being the son of a highly regarded Chemist all the Chemical reps would take us to some the most elaborate eateries all over the states. I wasn't complaining!

One of my college mates dad worked for Monsanto. I believe in sales though. Steve Seitz(my friend) from Roswell. He would get to go on lots of duck and other hunts with his dad.

Oh, how I wish I remember the name and exactly where it was:

Fancy mom and pop joint, maybe 18 tables. Probably New Orleans? Definitely Louisiana. Late 1980s.

It main course was a hand crafted pastry puff shell, maybe 8" long and about 4-6" in diameter, very light, filled with duck, roasted to perfection in a wine sauce. Grilled Asparagus on the side.

(They did bring the salad first)

I can still taste it......

I know this will seem like a buzz kill, but the best meal I ever had was any Sunday dinner with my grandma.

She was just a hard working farmer’s wife, never graduated high school, and she never even got a driver’s license. But she was hands down the best cook whose food I ever had the pleasure to eat.

And when I get to Heaven, she’s the first person that I want to see again.

My mom made a cookbook mostly based upon her MIL’s cooking and recipes. My grandmother was an incredible cook. And my mom is better. I’ve eaten great home cooking for decades. Maybe my mom will make me a blackberry cobbler or banana walnut bread when I see her in a couple of weeks.

And part of heaven’s lure is enjoying my grandmothers cooking again…………….

I can see that!!

My step Mom made the best Mexican food I've ever had. Melt in your mouth good!! I had it a couple months before she passed away. I had no idea it would be the last time. Tacos with melted cheese in them with veggies, meat and salsa. Out of this world good. She also made Mexican rice with spam and salsa. Then chicken Enchiladas with little green chili peppers. A wonderful meal
