I’ve had nothing but feed problems with the 3 10/22s I’ve had. My 2 Marlin 60s are almost perfect. My S&W 22 AR rifle is awesome and has been a pleasure to shoot every time. If you want a bolt action there is a whole new debate to have. I’m sure many will debate, but that’s my experience after 3000+ rounds of 22LR.

Marlin Model 60 has outsold the 10/22 and has been around longer.

just out of curiosity I looked up on Wikipedia for sales numbers:

Winchester Model 1890 (classic pump 22): 850k
Marlin 39a: 2.2 Million
Ruger 10/22: 5 million
Marlin Model 60: 11 million

not sure how accurate the information is but that should give you ball park numbers.

Personally I'd consider the 10/22 to be the classic but mostly because of the solid aftermarket options, low price and easy availability. When friends are thinking of buying a rifle or a 22lr, the 10/22 is my go to option.

My first 10/22 has a production date of late 1964.
