Most Versatile Pistol for IDPA, Bullseye, Service Pistol, 2 Gun , 3 Gun etc etc?

Should I just get a Glock so I can compete in everything? Would be easy.

Anyone have a favorite rig? Brand? Caliber?

Agreed on both suggestions. Don't underestimate the reliability and accuracy of the Ruger SR series too. SR9 is a sweet shooter...

I just shoot my carry gun (stock G19 G4 with tritium/orange FS and blacked out RS).

XDm competition, 5.25" barrel. Mine is set up with a Powder River Precision 2.5lb trigger and Vortex Venom red dot. I use a Comp-tac holster as well.
