Mow winter food plots as they die or leave?

I planted Dak radish, buckwheat, and rye grain last year.

The Dak radishes and buckwheat did great for first year doing a food plat at the location

The Rye grain never came I put about 250 pounds of it out over an acer spread out over three tries.

Went back to the spot a month ago, to my suprise the rye came in and was 4-5ft tall and is still green now.

In February I couldn't even tell it was growing.

I'll end up soon seeding it with buckwheat and mowing it down at the same time

Mines bout the same, Ill mow in early august then plow ,spray and re seed in early september

sambo77 sambo77 has a good point.
I know its kind of late for it, but some hens still have eggs that aren't hatched. I know a fella who bumped a hen off of a nest while he was coyote hunting on WMA land two days ago. Some hens will lay eggs in overgrown fields.
Just to echo what these guys have already said. If you are not replanting immediately, I'd leave it for fawn and turkey poult cover.
