Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with the Mossberg MVP scout. I looking at one for a SHTF rifle and wondered what the thoughts were on it

I'm on the train that believes a lightweight bolt gun that takes ar mags is a great SHTF option due to reliability, availability of mags and ammo and ease of use. Heard nothing but good things with the Mossy, but they still just "feel" cheap to me, although the good reviews would outweigh that opinion.

My MVP Patrol 762 was a great rifle. I had absolutely no problems with it, but replaced it with a Steyr SSG69 that I'm having cut down to the same length. Couldn't beat the price and always wanted an SSG69. I didn't see a need for 2 rifles set-up similarly, so I dumped one.

My daughter has the MVP Varmint 556. Laminate stock, heavy barrel that I cut n' crowned to 20". When she was 10YOA she went 3-for-3 at 800yds with and a 75grn hand load. I've shot 5-round .5MOA groups with it at 100yds.

That is impressive

That's awesome! I always wanted a 5.56 or for the same reasons listed above. Seem like descent rifles for the $$
