So long as I know them and the are not a prohibited person, I will. I don't need the ATF to side with me, I or anyone else that buys a gun for a family member is not doing anything wrong. If it came down to it, all I would ever need is a judge or jury to side with me. I have provided the laws for you to read. What you do with that knowledge is up to you.

A straw purchase is an illegal firearm purchase where the actual buyer of the gun, being unable to pass the required federal background check or desiring to not have his or her name associated with the transaction, uses a proxy buyer who can pass the required background check to purchase the firearm for him/her. You are wrong my friend. Any P.O.S.T. Certified Peace Officer can both carry and possess a firearm without a GWL.

Fantastic. Can you cite this law? The one that specifically notes the highlighted part above as well as the one you claimed earlier that if a person (not prohibited from ownership), ASKED for a firearm as a gift and a family member bought them said firearm they are guilty of felony. I want the actual law, not something cut and pasted from the internet, not a screen shot of a 4473, the actual law to be referenced. You have been asked multiple times now to cite the law, I gave you the entire chapter so you should have no trouble finding it if it exists. Until you do that all I hear is MUMP, MUMP, MUMP.

He did not hand me $XXX and tell me to get him any particular gun. The idiotic argument of straw purchase when buying a gift for a child surely has to be to stir the pot.

It doesn't. Notice he isn't even acknowledging he said that earlier, he has moved on to trying to define (terribly I might add), what a straw purchase is. He still has yet to produce ANYTHING that supports his claim below.

A gift is one thing, but this was a request for purchase, ie a FELONY. Age restrictions aside, the fact that he/she ASKED you to purchase makes this a straw sale. Relation makes no difference in the eyes of the law.
