My 1st and last ND Very nasty pics. I get to go back to work

Well, I just got done reading through the entire thread. Wow, what an eye opening experience. Trust me, your ordeal has caused me to pause and reset my own levels of safety awareness.

First, I'm very happy you were able to make a full recovery! Your tenacity and drive to meet your goals is also a testament to your strength.

Second, thank you for owning up to your mistake!! That may have been the hardest thing to do! Nobody likes to admit to doing something stupid, but really, 99% of accidents are from user error. Again, I will think of your accident every time I handle a firearm from now on!

Third, you've got a drink on me if and when we meet!! My stomping grounds are around Woodstock, so we might just run into each other one day!

Take care and shoot straight!

Thanks brother. Any man worth his word would fess up. I am a very humble man. I have to thank my parents and wife for that. I am in Woodstock about two or three times a month.

I'll be in Woodstock on Friday. We should go to the range.

Well I went to looking for the actual projectile today. I found it about 3 inches deep in a 2x4. Contrary to what I thought before the round expanded aprox none lol. The entry hole in the board is the same size as a unfired 357 round .

Oh, shoot, I only just saw this post. I would have enjoyed putting a few downrange today! It's been that kind of week...

Let me know when you'll be back in the area!

So I started using theae silicon scar sheets. These things rock. Here is a picture of my scar after only 2 days. I highly recommend theae to any one

I told you, those things are amazing! You may already be doing this but do you apply some sort of compression wrap over the silcone pad? Once you have the silicone pad in place take an ace wrap and wrap your hand snugly, not so tight that your hand turns blue but snug enough to put just a little compression on it.

Glad you're recovery has been positive, the best thing you can do is stay vigilant and do as much as you can.

Picked up one of these today

Its amazing how much strength I really have lost.

This put it in perspective for me. I'm not a small guy. Always been above average size.
I could have fully compressed this with any two fingers on my hand four weeks ago. I can barely move it right now. Give me two weeks and I'll squish this thing hahaha

every day you dont use a muscle, it loses 3% strength. every day.

my mom was in a a medically induced coma for 9 days and in bed for 4 weeks.
when they were ready to move her to a normal hospital room, she couldnt even sit up.

took several weeks of therapy before she could walk by herself again.

you are doing great!
I cant believe youve healed that fast.

sorry it happened, glad the wife n kiddo were not hurt.

I know a guy that got shot in the @ss by a husband while he was diving head first out a window....

know a guy that dropped a .357 on the floor and it discharged, thru his abdomen, he lived to tell the story.

Thanks guys. It really does mean a lot. I'm very fortunate to be strong willed and to have a high pain tolerance. The encouragement I have received from all of you has also motivated me tremendously. I'm not a quiter it's just not in my blood. This has been a hell of a ride. Lots of ups and downs. Thankfully I have a very loving strong wife and a family that is the same way. Not to mention the support and encouragement you guys have given. If I could personally meet and thank you guys I would. Unfortunately life keeps us all busy. Hopefully I'll get to meet more of you and thank you. The folks that I have met here are awesome. I originally joined this site trying to sell a browning a bolt in 338 Remington ultra mag. I'm glad I decided to stick around. Yall are awesome. I'd also like to thank OS for making all this possible.

If you ever come to Las Vegas, I'll make sure you get a welcome and a 'High Four'! BTW, when people get an amputation, they sometimes get 'phantom pains' and other false feelings, like it's still there. Besides maybe at yourself in the mirror, (I cuss myself out every day for my stupidity), have you inadvertently given anyone the 'Phantom Bird'? :)

Bgolden, your attitude about all this has been truly amazing. I wish I were able to have such a positive attitude in the face of adversity. Stay safe!

Finally replaced my wedding band. I had to get a ring 2.5 sizes larger. I have pretty much made a full recovery at this point. Again thanks for all the encouragement and kind words. You guys have given me the support to pull me through. It has been tough. I will be forever grateful
