Commercial 30-06 vs Garand ammo - powder charge , pressure too much can bend the operating rod

I am unsure @ 308 commercial versus 30 caliber Garand food.

IMHO as long as pressure is equal or less than 30 caliber Greek HXP or similar your fine. 308 Garand uses same components except barrel and in some old Navy conversions same barrel with chamber insert,

as alleycat suggested by an adjustable gas plug and dont worry

Thanks for all the replies. I fired it yesterday using military 7.62 ammo originally made for the M14. Everything went well with no problems. I will probably continue to use milspec stuff, since it won't be fired that often. If I should ever decide to shoot commercial loads, I will buy an adjustable gas plug....better safe than sorry.

It's not the max pressure but the difference in the pressure curve.... Or so I've been told.
