Just shot this critter. My dog grabbed it before I got to it. She didn't play with it just moved it about 20'. Should I take her to the vet?

Looks like a coyote with mange. Either keep a watchful eye on your dog or bring it to the vet for antibiotics and shots. Do you have the money to spare? Also, the picture will help. You may be able to just call or drive to the vet and ask them about the it

It's a little fox. Think it's mange. I do have the money that's not an object just wondering if I should be preemptive. If it's mange that short of a contact may yield nothing, and if does then treatable.
Called vet. Said just give her a bath and she should be ok. Mange is a parasite and requires a bit more exposure. Phew

My dog got to be sensitive. Couldn't touch her without a yelp. I had gotten on her tail in my sleep but she let out a quick cry and nothing more. Took her in and they took x rays. Nothing. They did find a tick at the base of her tail. 400 bucks later....all good.
That thing was in bad shape, hardly recognizable. I think you put it out of its misery. Hope your dog is ok.
