Is this guy the kid's daddy? If she has no job then nothing is really keeping her in Canton or wherever she is. Does she have a diploma? Job skills?

My son and I (3 at the time) slept on air mattresses in my buddies spare room for probably 3-4 months until I got my living situation settled, the divorce and criminal case too much longer. LONG story but I LOST everything except custody of my son (thank the Lord for good Guardian ad Litums) and my job.

IF she really wanted to leave and had at LEAST 1 person who REALLY wanted to help her, she would be gone.

The relationship went south about a month ago. During that time it has been "just putting up with an Ahole" until she can find a way out. It's just over the past week that he went from a harmless lying Ahole to scary stalker so its only this past week that her mind frame went from "looking for an exit strategy" to "evacuate".

Yeah, I agree with Frogman. Why bother to feed his lust for attention? Write him off and move on. If she doesn't have enough reason to leave his ass and move on, then that's on her to decide and reconcile with.

I'm not in your shoes, nor do I fully understand the entire dynamics that make up this specific situation. However all I can offer is my opinion from my past personal experience with a pathological lier (that I was victim to - lost a few grand due to believing his lies).

From personal experience, debunking a lie, no matter how big it is won't accomplish what you're attempting to achieve. I had a friend who had a serious gambling problem and cheated on his wife with a number of women regularly. Even when she discovered the entire truth, he still thought there was a chance to save his marriage, even after she re-married. For some guys, it takes very little to "move on", for some guys it takes some counseling, for some guys it takes a restraining order (which are not effective) and then there are other guys who need a good ass whoopin'. Debunking a lie may help "her" with seeing how messed up this guy is, but in his mind he can rationalize everything including non-reality.

That could also go another way. Exposing people like that can also drive them into a psychotic rage. It depends on how invested they are in their little fantasy world.
