I watched that whole thing last night that’s how I even caught on to needing to rivet

Sounds like you have your solution (Yay ODT!).

I was going to suggest tapping it and using a small screw instead.

I debated that myself I bet it would hold just fine but I’m a sucker for the “original” way.
