I’m consigning this for a customer at my shop. Very sweet old lady, it was her late husbands. Quick gunbroker searches lead me to believe it’s worth anywhere from 1k-2k
but I can’t really find any in this condition. Also the fact it’s nickel is throwing me. Any help would be appreciated.

Lots of cool history behind these and the Colt m1917. It was common for GI’s to bring them back and have them chromed or nickle-plated. Collectors desire the ones in their original usgi finish most of all so this one most likely would bring less money, prob in the 450-650 range

I have a nickel Remington 1911, and I was told by cmshoot cmshoot that the nickel guns were given to higher ranking Soldiers as a retirement gift. He’s the one that could answer your question, I have no doubt.

Yeah I saw the lanyard loop was missing as well. All the expensive ones on gunbroker are all blued. A lot are beat to **** though, so I was assuming they want it that way. I figured the unoriginal finish would hurt the value, but was hoping the condition would make up for it.
