I am in the market for an inexpensive fixed blade. It wont be for hard use, mainly for use while hunting and fishing.

my criteria:

1. I prefer between a 3 and 4 inch blade, closer to 4 preferably.
2. must come with a sheath, preferably kydex or leather over nylon, must have some sort of retention
3. non serrated blade
4. not a bright colored handle

looking to spend under 50, I know that is a low budget but its all I can afford in the near future and I would like to have it by the time I go hunting in a few weeks.

US Aircrew Issue survival knife...served me well in the military and many years after hunting and fishing, still have it.
See them on ebay all the time in your price range.
If you of course go for the older versions Viet Nam , Korean vets and such you pay more because of the history but if you go "currnet issue, present day editions ...basically same knife just made by Ontario or one of the other current mfgers.

A Buck 119 special from Wally World would be a good choice. (They usually cost a lot more elsewhere)
Super sharp with plenty of backbone and enough sharp edge on the blade to cut up a couple of deer before sharpening.
Easy to sharpen and they hold an edge during tough jobs better than most.
It's a classic for a reason and made in the USA.
