The Biltmore Hotel, Cades Cove, Dry Falls and Ruby Falls are all excellent. Giant Redwood forest in Kings Canyon National Park (the only reason to go to CA). My wife and I have also done things like falconry where we flew a harris hawk and a barn owl.

If you’ve only got 4 days, you don’t want to burn a lot of time getting there and back. Plus, you don’t want to get a rental car. That’s tough. I would definitely recommend Charleston over Savannah. No contest.

If you had a little more time and a rental car was an option, definitely do a loop through New England. Also liked the Montreal suggestion, but haven’t been there yet. On the list.

We were planning on a fall break to Charleston…….but the kiddo has his class trip there this year. We are in the same boat as you, trying to figure out where to go. Tired of beaches…….
