New-to-me M1 Carbine

Emry Frye of Atlanta PD / Fulton Co PD carried his personal M2 Carbine on duty. I remember seeing him with it during a manhunt in Cherokee Co in May 2000.

Sold the one I had decades ago, and have wanted another for quite some time now. Thanks to an early birthday present from a buddy, I’ve got one again.

Late 1943 Standard Products. Probably arsenal-rebuilt at some time, as the barrel is a Rock-Ola. From what I’ve read, that isn’t one of the barrel suppliers for Standard Products.

Already got plenty of ammo and USGI mags.

Happy with it, and I’ll get to the range as soon as I can.

Standard Products did not make barrels. They were supplied barrels by Inland, Buffalo Arms, Underwood, I.B.M., Marlin, and Winchester.

They also sourced parts from other manufacturers, like triggers, hammers, sears, etc.

It's even possible that the Rock-Ola barrel on mine is an original barrel, and not a refurb. A lot of M1 Carbine contractors shipped parts to other Contractors. Just because it's all matching doesn't necessary mean that is how it left the factory. You could have an M1 Carbine that's a mishmash of parts from numerous different Contractors, and it's possible that's exactly how it was when it left the factory. As an example, say Underwood was low on sears, Inland would ship some sears to them, and those sears could be marked or unmarked.
