The erosion and barrel length is why I went with a 9mm SBR over a 5.56. If you're loading to subsonic, the 5.56 is worthless, might as well shoot heavy .22lr.
I am building an 8.5 inch 300 blackout upper, but that's more for hog/coyote hunting and I'll be using full bore 300 in it.
I've got a 5 inch 9mm barrel, with 147 and 158 it's subsonic with factory ammo. I'll run my mystic on both of them.
