Well to begin with I/we NEVER go to McDonald's. You can easily see in the video the reason why. Secondly I THINK I would try to help the poor security guy with the less than lethal mid size can of OC I always have in my front pocket. But I will admit that you don't know what you will do until you're in the middle of it.
But here's a question I think is very valid these days. If...IF you decide to be " The Good Guy with a Gun" in any violent situation how do quickly and clearly prove to the responding LEO agencies that you aren't the bad guy?

1.) I didn’t see the officer’s life in imminent danger. At times he was fighting two guys, but at least a couple customers were trying to get his opponents off him too.
So, no shooting on my part.
I might move to a good angle and be ready to draw from concealment if things took a deadly turn though.


2.). I don’t want to be the white guy who shoots a black guy in front of 20 black witnesses, possibly in a “chocolate city” where all the prosecutors, judges, and potential jurors are black.
That’s just not a good position to be in.

It sucks being caught in the middle. When things get shady I always find mixed reviews. I have been rounded up into the "bad guy" group when police show up in situations like these. As someone who is definitely a shade dark enough to be considered "blank", and light enough to be considered "blank"; if it were a black on black thing, or white on white thing I would obtain a position and phone LE; unless it came to stabbing or shooting. Black on White; White on Black I am O.U.T. Over, Under, and Through with it. Law enforcement thinks I'm a young, inner city youth, and inner city youths think I'm a sunny valley trust fund baby. LOL.

Agreed.i am of the opinion if ya carry lethal force multipliers, nonlethals should be carried as well (such as oc spray or the like). Looking through this thread thus far though, i have not seen people implying "gun first option"

I would help him.......but firearm is LAST resort, when you draw a firearm, you better be right because you have to be prepared to use it (and be able to justify it's use) or have it taken from you and used against you.
Deployment of a weapon is not a poker game where you can bluff your way thru it.
