Nov 2nd Deer Hunt

This afternoon's view. It's about 130 yards to the far end. I've had lots of daytime pics of both bucks and does in this field.

Shot a modest six pt. this morning. My attention was focused in a different direction and he was already within 70 yards by the time I realized he was there. Couldn't swing my rifle around, so sat still, waiting for him to look away. He looked at me in the stand three times, third time got a bit spooky, he started to bound off. I figured that was the end of that. Thank the rut: He stopped, looked around, and started doubling back, focused on whatever scent he had been following. Presented me with a nice broadside at about 50 yards. He managed to run about 30 yards, into a ravine (of course) before piling up.

Counted 27 shots at Allatoona WMA from 7:30 to 10:00 am, and that's just what was within earshot.
