Odd deer stand

I climbed poison Ivy vines up a tree to kill a deer with a slingshot.

I’ve seen folks eye bolt them beside tree 25’ in the 70s with spikes drove in the tree for steps.
I’ve found a few on public land done the same way. Bottoms are rusted out of em now. Nine times out of ten these old permanent stands were set in really good spots too.

I recently gained hunting access to a great spot of land. They had a few of these old 55 gallon drum converted stands on there. One was still hanging in the tree. Never seen anything like them before!

That's too cool. I've found 3 similar on our lease. Two are still in trees. And like 24on48hunting 24on48hunting said, they are the best spots on the property
