One could have done both, wife watched the coronation this morning, going to Derby party this afternoon.
I'm 100% Scot-Irish on both sides back to the 1750's. We got run out of two countries by the English.
I had old relatives who were 100% Cracker, who would immediately call down anyone who claimed that the relatives were "English". Tribal memories used to last a long time.
