I am a pretty basic guy. I was wearing a Timex Expedition analog watch for years. My family kept commenting on how loud it was. Of course it never bothered me until they mentioned it. I got to doing some research and it seems to be a Timex issue. I guess the term takes a licking and keeps on ticking is quite fitting. I decided being me I would open it up and see why it was so loud. Lets just say I should not tinker with such intricate devices.
I then became in the market for a new watch. I have read and watched video reviews etc and found that the chronograph Timex appear to have different mechanics on the inside. From what I have read the chronograph versions are much quieter. I finally narrowed it down to a Time MK1 aluminum chronograph. The watch is 40mm and I am hoping its not bigger than I am used to. Today is my birthday and I expect my present to be here in a few days. I will be changing the Nato style band and hope this is an improvement. If not this may be a rabbit hole.
