I'm in my local fun shop the other day, looking for Enfields, Mausers, etc..and I spot what at first glance looks like a standard M38 Mosin. Almost didn't give it a second thought, but the blonde wood suggested 91/59. So I pick it up.........
Almost dropped it when I realized what it was. A Czech '91/38' rework. So these are scarce enough. The icing on the cake is that this carbine started life as a 1909 Izhevsk Cossack rifle (Ka3 marking)!
For those unfamiliar, a '91/38' is a carbine conversion that was done in Czechoslovakia in the 1950s to early M91 Mosin rifles. Not very common, and Cossack marked Mosins are extremely scarce. This is a Mosin variant you won't run into every day!
