OPMOD? What and why

I decided to try out the atn 5x20 gen 2 because i found it at a great deal New and well...why not. If anything I can always return or repost. Reviews look good overall and I’m not a operator. But on topic what is opmod? I see it only on optics planet, like they take everyone’s out f the box optic and make it better somehow? As far as the atn I cant find much different In Specifications, it seems like it’s kind of a gimmick. Thoughts from the older and wiser in Otd?

It stands for OPtics planet MODification. It's a special run of a particular optic made specifically for them.
Usually just a colored optic.
