After shooting an HK VP9 I was not impressed in the least. Feels great till you start pulling the trigger!
Springfield 1903 they robbed the mauser design, made a ****tier round and called it advanced over the G98 and K98.

Lots of people on here labeling stuff as over rated and not sure if some know what the hell they are talking about
Spencer Repeating Rifles... smokeless powder - overrated. Rifles are supposed to be loaded from the muzzle-end. After all, if you practice you can get off two or three shots a minute, and what combat situation would ever require a faster rate of fire than that?
On a serious note, I think AKs and ARs are both fine platforms, and each serves a different purpose. With respect to any ass-backward nation going up against a highly trained military - of course it's going to go badly for them, irrespective of what they carry.
