Performance Center M&P guide rod spring uncaptured.

Thought I'd pass along something I've never seen before. Picked up a new Performance Center M&P 45 acp Shield. After the first trip to the range, the guide rod spring is bigger in diameter than the flat end of the guide rod that's supposed to keep it captured. After talking to the PC rep with Smith and Wesson, apparently this has happened a couple of times before. New one on the way, no questions asked. This was the 27th of June and I wanted to carry it on a road trip to a reunion on the 1st of July. No chance of a quick replacement because they didn't have any in stock to send out.
How much time would you give them before you checked back?

If it's anything like that rebate they were running on the Shield, don't look for it anytime soon.

Been waiting on a replacement ejector spring for my M&P AR 15-22 for three months now. I call them once a week. Makes no difference.

UPDATE: 2 guide rods with springs arrived today.

Plan on stopping by the Hi-Caliber range (senior day) tomorrow to see if this is going to be a reoccurring issue. Sending 2 at a time makes me skeptical. I suppose if I don't field strip it to clean it when I'm done, it shouldn't be a problem.

I need to check mine now. I just got it and went to the range Monday but haven't cleaned it. Thanks!

Let me know. I ran 50 real quick rounds on Tuesday and everything stayed in place when I got home and cleaned it.
