Works for me as I am in the supporter group. As for the $1 for ads it depends on how you get payment, via credit card then no but if on Paypal then ok. would it be a monthly bill or each event?

5 listings per category per day

I wanted (want?) to vote "NO, keep 'em free". But for FIVE (5) listings per category per day, $1 (that's one dollar)per MONTH is dirt cheap.

Hey, non-supporters: A (Friggin') Coke costs more than $1!!!

Those of you that smoke: a buck ($1) is like 2 cigs!

Drive a big (friggin') truck? One dollar (the bill with George Washington's likeness) is similar to driving 3 miles in your 10mpg monster.

There's not a decent beer out there for less than $1.

I'd hate to see a huge decrease in the classifieds, but maybe the die hards would become supporters and the Craiglisters would pony up or quit wasting time.

I'm sure the analogies, metaphors and similes are myriad, but the bottom line is...the bottom line. Ante up, boys (and any ladies). One dollar ($1, the one with George Washington!) per MONTH!

And God Bless us, every one!

It wouldn't be per ad, it would be $1/month or $10/year.

It would work like a subscription, so you'd pay ahead either monthly or annually for access. Accepted payment methods would be cards via Square, Paypal, USPS money orders, Taco Bell gift cards, and Chuck E Cheese tokens.

and Chuck E Cheese tokens.
This is a game changer! Never mind the fine print... these DO have value

The issue would be the hassle of signing up and creating your account. Most people are simply not going to do that. If you are trying to expand, then that is great but by charging people, you are starting to compete with other sites like gunbroker and armslist. I believe that by imposing the cost on people, it will hurt the site. I would pay for it, but people who come here to sell one gun that their grandfather had in his closet will shy away and never become long time members while only the veteran members will stay and have an exclusive little club.

So what’s your point?...

I'm in the cheap category as well, and the I'm not reading 83 pages to find out if someone has already mentioned this.

Set a limit, like two a month (or at a time) - including reposts for free. After that charge $1 a post. Unless they sign up as supporters or dealers.
