Yep, it’s the way I was raised. A deal is a deal, a handshake is a contract. I have been stiffed several times on here but they didn’t break the rules so nothing can be done. You can ignore them....and I do.

Agreed. I keep a list of those who have stiffed/ghosted me. Luckily, I haven't driven anywhere and had that happen. That does seem more prevalent than I would have thought... There is no excuse for crap manners -- especially not here in the south.

What other businesses has anyone on this site ever dealt with, has been asked by the owner about raising fees? Pretty darn nice if you ask me. And to take it to a vote because he actually cares about this community!

IIn the past I've relied very heavily on outside ad networks to supply our ads to us, but in the last year the landscape has changed and a lot of gun forums are having a very rough go of it, including us.

Without weighing in on the subscription model, can I suggest that you place something on the site that forces users to disable ad blockers to see content? It never occurred to me that the forum has ads or I would have disabled mine a long time ago.

Somebody just backed out of a deal with me a couple days ago. Price agreed, meeting time and place set and agreed, just changed their mind. Rare here but it happens.

I think it is a bad idea. Not because Im a cheapskate but because I have seen this happen on other sites and it spelled doom.

Granted , those sites just implemented the change. They did not give advance warning or start a nice poll and discussion like this. I am impressed.

Having said that, if a change was implemented I would be on board with it and would gladly pay for the privilege. This place is a great resource.
