I have a monocular en route but that sight is a cheap Sightmark Wraith

I am not expert but I have called in quite a more in the daytime than at night. I have always had luck with a cottontail in distress electronic call or a primos cottontail mouth call. I like to use a primos bleat and bawl in early deer season for does and have called in a bunch of coyotes this way as well.
