No doubt....it was done really well....but wasnt my cup of tea. Minnwax Ebony is in this wood's near future.

It's starting to grow on me, it may stay that way.

What is your overall plan/goal with the rifle?

My goal is to chop it down to 16" and fit it with some sort of optic good for <200m...I've often wondered how a lever gun might fair as an "everything" gun....lighter, more maneuverable in the bush or in a structure. Realistically I'll never need to make a shot on anything at > 200m so if I only had one, K.I.S.S. rifle, would this be it? At least that's the idea.

That's cool!!! Having played with my 35, my experience was the joy of building what I wanted and how I wanted it to suit me!!!

Is that oven cleaner your using to strip the stock, if not what kind do you use?
