Okay, I bought a cheap push mower from the home depot about four years ago and the thoughts that it would not last more than two seasons. Turns out this a really good mower, briggs and Stratton motor with decent deck. So now I want this to last me a good while. So I am asking advice to you all on here as to what I should do. Here is what I did today:

Pulled motor
drained old gas (it ran before I pulled the motor)
drained oil
put new oil in
cleaned air filter (got some old K&N filter cleaner)

next weekend, I plan to:
sharpen blade
new plug
take the deck to a car wash and power spray the inside
sand and spray any rust spots i may find
put it all back together

Any thing I am missing? Also, I noticed it says not to use E85 gas. All gas stations I know of use E85, unless I am mistaking. How should i handle that?

most gas stations now have 10% ethanol not E85. you definitely don't want to use E85 in anything that's not marked E85. I always use sta bil with ethanol treatment in everything now even my cars because of the 10% ethanol and gas being so sorry.
you should be ready for the grass cutting season it sounds to me. I'm sure others will chime in.
