Question for the nature lovers

[Dauphin Gravy]

Saw a bunch of these hanging in a pin oak tree. Obviously a cocoon of some type made of leaves but my kid (and me) was really interested to know what was inside. Didn’t want to bust one open though.

They were about 2-3 inches long.

Can y’all make me look smart and help me out?
