Question on .380 defensive ammo…. have you tried this stuff?

My Keltec P3AT has a very sharply sloped feed ramp and even round nose full metal jacket ammo sometimes hesitates before sliding into the chamber, so I will only use FMJ ammo in that gun for protection.
I'll get adequate penetration and no expansion.
I'm OK with that.

Yuuup, that will work, but then again you can try polishing ramp.............

My P-3AT feeds Hornady Critical Defense well, cheap practice stuff too.

Speer Gold Dot Hollow Points tested in my Sig P238 penetrated 12" in ballistic gel and expanded reliably while retaining 97% (on avg) of weight. I recommend it.
Brother in Law recommended the Speer and carry in my Kimber Micro. Shoot a mag or 2 every range trip. Reliable for me. Have heard similar results. If I need it it is better to gets shots on target and 6" penetration is good for me.

Other dudes have mentioned it, and I’m with them on the concept- if it’s a keltec p3at/ruger lcp/ Taurus 738, I’m running what ever ball ammo will reliably shoot thru that THANGGGGG! I will take reliably poking holes in a mfer.

Honest question as it’s the second time I see this, and have an LCP Max. Why the warm weather carry ammo and then cold weather carry ammo?
Bori, I think it’s the idea that people wear thicker clothing in the winter, so your bullet won’t penetrate as deep. I say carry what’s reliable. Mind you, I may think different because I grew up listening to Pedro Navaja, blasting.

LCP and P3AT both handle the Underwood 100 gr Hard Cast +P just fine - it's snappy but it penetrates.

Hogue grip sleeve. Transforms the way the LCP shoots.
