I have a 22 cal crossman redtail..it is much more quiet than my Gamo s com tactical..and twice as accurate for half the price. And that 22 smacks squirrels much better than .177. Academy had them under a 100 bucks earlier.
About 1050fps is the speed of sound....If your pellet gun is shooting faster than that, it will not be very quiet.
How about the quietest air rifle assuming pellet is going subsonic?

That is one expensive pellet rifle! Do you have experience with PCP air rifles? I don't. I just bought a Gamo Whisper Fusion Mach 1. It is the 1st air rifle that I have had since childhood - many moons ago! It is plenty powerful but not as quite as I was hoping for and definitely not back yard friendly.
How quiet do you really need? Thread your barrel and make a oil filter can for it
I have a break action Winchester pellet gun and all you can hear is the spring when you shoot it.
