I second the reaction rod idea. I've done a couple of forearms, flash hiders and barrels without it just fine. But then I tried to remove a flash hider
that had rocksett holding it on. I soaked the fh in water for 24 hours and still had to use a lot of torque to get if off. Unfortunately, I twisted the entire
barrel in the upper and bent the barrel locating pin out of position. A gunsmith had to fix it. A reaction rod would prevent that.
