There is always room for a new genre where groups of like minded folks make up a new rule set to suit themselves. Name a current discipline as a perfect example, run and gun, PRS, three gun and on and on, anything that brings more folks into shooting sports is good.. The highpower stuff is rooted in military training and competition. 22lr 3x200 is simply an adaptation for small bore type rifles at extreme distance for the caliber and conforming to the same rule set for familiarity. It is far easier for a highpower or small bore shooter to adapt since they were the folks who made it up to match the skill set and equipment they already had.
