Hope this is in the right section.

Im looking into getting a 1st PC setup and am leaning towards the RMA 1092 plates. The problem is I can’t find them in stock. I’m on a couple waiting lists at the moment.

The Hesco L210 and M210 are in stock and I’ve considered grabbing a pair and adding backers.

I don’t want to pay over $600’ish for plates and I’d like each plate to be around 5.5lbs or less which rules out all the level 4 plates in my price range. I have no interest in 8+ lb plates.

What are y’all’s thoughts on plates?

Personally I run Lvl 4, yes they are heavier but are rifle rated. Soft armor is also lvl 3 and lighter if not rifle rated... really safes weight and add comfort.

If going between your 2 choices, Hesco is it. RMR is the lowest respected plate but recently lost NIJ certification ( they are fighting it) so there's that.

Have you looked into Highcom armor? They are good and within your budget but I'm afraid probably over your weight limit.
