This is all about the import mark right? Isn't the import mark just another part of this rifles story? You would rather remove THE barrel that this rifle went into service with and replace it with a barrel with no history?

I see your point, but many collectors think that mark takes away from how a historically accurate model should look. They didn't go into combat with BLUE SKY stamped on the barrel.

I have many MILSURPS, mostly foreign with discreet import markings. Even on a carbine a small CAI import mark under the barrel is fine but the BILLBOARD DEEP stamp of the Blue sky on the side is probably the most extreme one.

Up to owner preference.

military surplus to me is not about looks it's about the history.
That being said you are correct it's the owners preference.
