Why does she not sue for illegal search? Until you start holding criminals (yes even police can commit criminal acts) accountable, they will always push the boundaries. It would behoove a charity to align themselves either ACLU and raise money to prosecute cops who break the law.
Yep, that's why I trust cops less and less. Where are the cop defenders who always say "it is not happening in Georgia, I do not care what they do in Oklahoma or New Jersey"?
It is us against them. "Them" enjoy abusing "civilians", "them" shoot handicapped kids because they "left Taser at home that day", "them" mace woman's vagina as a "punishment" and get away with it, "them" ransack the car and grope the driver because they can.

Wish I could say this is an "isolated incident" however I know from personal experience it is far from isolated. I have said many,many times. I do not hate Cops, I dispise people who believe they have the authority or "right" to treat people as "less than". Folks we are all created equal, what seperates us from the crowd is how we conduct ourselves in private and in a crowd. People who take advantage of others in private or public are not good and decent people. They are thugs, even when they wear a gun and a badge.

I crack window, give the Stazi my "Papeles" And inform them that I'm in a hurry and don't have time for questions or statist tactics.. If they want to play heavy handed, I "comply" within reason, but otherwise, don't answer anything, ESPECIALLY if I have nothing to hide.
And YES, it's a Richard thing to do, as some of those folks are "just doing their job", But if you're gonna waste MY time, I'm gonna tie yours up too. I used to be very polite to police even when they were being heavy handed and treating me rudely. Nowdays, i WELCOME the drama that my described behavior promotes, it just goes to show how law enforcement has gotten out of control in some places. When I was a kid, I got busted from drag racing quite a few times. ALWAYS I was let off with a stern talking to and the Cop/cops wanting to talk cars and check out underhood, etc. Nowdays, I'm not abiding by any unconstitutional road blocks. And I'll tell them to their face "I do not consent to search, I will NOT be giving up my 4th and 5th tonight EITHER".
A Church van, driven by an older woman, and it smells like weed?! Righhhhtttttt. Every time I hear one of these stories it makes me laugh for all the folks who defend this crap. They HONESTLY think the police are there as a WHOLE to protect and serve. AND they won't wake up until it happens to them-and it WILL, mark my word.
