SB26 passed the GA Senate on 03-11-2011 by a vote of 40 -12. This is GA's version of the Katrina Bill. It would prohibit the government from applying any further restrictions on firearms in GA during a declared emergency.
This bill was prompted by the events around Katrina in New Orleans and most recently during the declared emergency in North Carolina last year.
The bill now needs to get through the obstacles in the GA House. It may be time to contact your local representatives to push them to support or even co-sponsor this bill. We definitely need it to get passed.
