I installed one in a barn with no power for a guy. I used a deep cell battery ( for a trolling motor) with a solar trickle charge and a cell dialer. He never had any issues. Small,water proof , and portable is gonna make it tough.

Make the property look like it has security. Use fences, dummy cameras, dummy key fob entry, and caution signs. "Caution sewage treatment area" signs could go a long way.

Not likely if they know there is no power or phone service out there. The most they have to worry about is being recorded. If they know they have X number of hours before there is a chance of cops or you showing up, that give them plenty of time to bust in and clean your place out, plus find and destroy any security cameras you have.
Stealth (camo and diversion) and deterrence (wire obsticals and spiky or poisonous plants) are likely more effective in such a situation.
I'm thinking if it's small an hidden, I could have it just phone home if its tripped I would at least know if I was a victim, having a loud alarm say 200 dbl would be a enough make them run
