I do have a double barrel but it is not the shotgun of choice for bedside badguy blasting.

Heinie "Straight Eight" Night Sights, perhaps??? Oh, and BTW...You DO need to "Aim" the Shottie at CLOSE Range...At "Bad Breath" Distance, EVEN WITH a SHORT, Cylinder-Bore-Choked Barrel, the Pattern Spread of ANY Load is about the Diameter of a Coffee Saucer...NO JOKE!...HTH...

Anything inside is close enough that you need to aim. You at least need practiced point shooting.
