Selling AAC can

whenever I buy a can I assume it's lifetime. It's seldom worth the trouble to sell a used one, and they are wear items anyway.

I would just find a fun way to utilize it or stick it back in the safe. I have a 22 can from like 15 years ago that sucks by today's standards but it's still useful to make things quieter. I don't own a single of the hosts I got it for back then, either.

I don’t know about paper to paper but I just got a form 4 back in 2 days.

And I’m at 78 days and counting for an e-form 4………

I agree with start off at $400.. I have one of their 556SD cans and would love to have another. The problem with AAC is that they have switch hands so many times, their warranty is gone. The buyer is going to take a risk is something happens, like a baffle strike or broken rachet. their are several companies that can fix them......but it aint free or cheap. Silencer Shop needs to come up with a system to allow people to buy and sale used cans, for a fee of course.

Two tax stamps (seller to dealer, dealer to buyer) unless someone wants to pay you and wait for the form 4 to clear.

Not required for in state transfers

This is probably a valid concern under many circumstances, but the OP in this thread who wants to sell his suppressor has been here for 10 years and has over 400 transactions on his record with only positive feedback.

PS: I've bought and sold machine guns and destructive devices and short barrel shotguns between other private individuals in Georgia before, without involving any FFL / SOT dealer.

I've never done this with a suppressor, though, YET. I only have one silencer;
I bought it from a dealer, and I am not planning on selling it.

Private individual to private individual can go direct so only one $200 tax. In the past it seems like most people would take a percentage up front (50-75%?) and the rest due upon tax stamp/transfer.

The only issue then is the wait for the stamp. My understanding is that unless the seller/buyer is a dealer, they will have to submit paper form (not efile, I think Form 4 efile is only available to SOT/FFL). Currently here are the average wait times for Form 4 per ATF:
Form 4 trust paper 159 days
Form 4 trust efile 34 days
Form 4 individual paper 158 days
From 4 individual efile 20 days.

so my guess would be that the buyer/seller should anticipate 5-6 month turnaround for form 4 paper submission for a private seller to private buyer in state.

These times seem fairly accurate. In the past 3 months I've had one approval in 5 business days, and three in ~35 days.
