Selling house, realtor told me to plant flowers. Flower advice?

Yup, Knock out roses, not the double pedal, go with the standard. They grow like weeds and bloom from spring till December. I throw a banana peel at the base of mine every so often and they are pretty impressive. The leaves also turn a bronze/red color when it get's cold.

Grab a few small pompous grass for accent and your done.

Fresh pine straw and/or mulch is the number 1 thing you can do. Just make things look clean and well kept. A couple flowers won't hurt either but don't worry about spending too much on that

I agree, fresh pine straw looks good. Call this guy, I just used him and he had the best price for delivered and spread for Marietta/West Cobb.

I'm hoping the mulch still looks good enough from September when I put it down. There is an additional 100'x30' area that I mulched as well on the side of the house. I got it all on clearance and still spent $500+, and I picked up/spread it all out myself.

It still looks pretty good, just have some pop up weeds to take care of.

March is a tough time for color, winter color is pretty much unavailable at this point and i wouldnt plant any summer color until mid april after the last frost unless you want to replace it.Knock out roses are cheap color but will be stalks in march and wont bloom out until late april/may.

:noidea:If the realtor thinks it's such a good idea then maybe she would be willing to deduct the cost of the plants and flowers from her percentage of the sale?

Do you have photos of the outside of your house? Maybe people could give you better ideas from that.

I think what she is basically trying to get you to do is to increase your curb appeal to give people a reason to want to go in.
