Serious Question: Why the FT only?

When I am the seller/poster, I actually prefer to trade. It is more fun for me, but sometimes I sell to recoup funds for another purchase. Also, just because someone puts a FT only in their ad doesn't mean they won't sell. For example, this is always the case with me if and when I post something FT only. If it is FT, it is FS.

On the flip side, as a potential buyer, I always prefer the item I am looking at to be FS/FT.

Trading eliminates the possibility of making a profit when you don't have a ffl. Too much of that is a no no and could present problems with certain entities.

When I trade a gun for a gun it's nice to get something back in that spot vs I'll sell something and have $500, then the next time I look in my wallet I have $6 somehow.

It's kinda like that with me although I don't think I've ever listed a trade only deal. To me if you pay me a few bills on whatever then I'll just blow it on some stupid **** like bills.

Serious Question and not trying to stir the pot or beat a dead horse. But why do some folks list guns for trade only? Couldn’t they sell it and buy whatever they want with the proceeds?
