But even as reporting has climbed, prosecutions have not. No cases were prosecuted at the two colleges with the most reported offenses in 2012: Emory University and the University of Georgia.

That year, 127 rapes and other forced sexual assaults were reported at Georgia campuses, according to the most recent data reported to the U.S. Department of Education. By law, colleges must inform the federal agency of all reported sexual assaults, whether they were reported to police or agencies such as counseling services.

In 2011, 87 rapes were reported at Georgia colleges. In 2010, the figure was 67.

The rest is behind the AJC paywall.

Why didn't the have a rape whistle, force themselves to vomit or tell their attacker they had AIDS? That is the learned helplessness training program in NYC. Perhaps Mayor Reed can import the program here and he'll MAIG will probably pay for it.

You do know the facts don't support arming these women. At least that's what former senator Evie Hudak stated to a college student rape victim.

Reports of sexual assaults were up at Georgia colleges in 2012. Emory University reported 26 forcible sex offenses, including rape that year at its campuses, an increase from 15 the year before. University officials say the increase at the school is driven, in part, by aggressive efforts to encourage students to report and seek help.

So nothing to get upset about, as sexual assaults have always been this high.

Whew, thank goodness and to think I thought we had an increasing problem. So nothing to get upset about, as sexual assaults have always been this high. We are just getting better at capturing that data, right!

The same tired arguments unsuccessfully utilized in an attempt to deny state carry is again being used with effect within our college campuses that disarm those who would be legal in most everywhere else in our state.

In 2013, at least 19 states introduced legislation to allow concealed carry on campus in some regard. Two bills passed, one in Kansas that allows concelaed carry generally and one in Arkansas that allows faculty to carry. The Kansas legislation creates a provision that colleges and universities cannot prohibit concealed carry unless a building has "adequate security measures," however, governing boards of the institutions may still request an exemption to prohibit for up to 4 years. Arkansas' bill allows faculty to carry, unless the governing board adopts a policy that expressly disallows faculty to carry.

On the other hand, recent shootings also have encouraged some legislators to strengthen existing firearm regulations. In 2013, 5 states introduced legislation to prohibit concealed carry weapons on campus. None of these have bills passed.

6 states now have provisions allowing the carrying of concealed weapons on public postsecondary campuses. These states are Colorado, Kansas, Mississippi, Oregon, Utah, and Wisconsin. There is an uncomfortable silence in the media and from the gun prohibitionist. I mean with these 6 states who ignorantly allow legal campus carry, the crime rate must have went up, you know the drunk students shooting up the dorms, settling arguments with flying lead, crumbling due to the academic stress then using a gun to resolve the conflict, drunk-drugged students randomly discharging guns, accidently shooting themselves other students and staff. Did I miss any?

Curiously, there is no data I can web search that addresses these states that allow campus carry and the obvious increase in gun violence and criminal activity......

This is a gold mine for the liberal gun prohibitionist and they just ignore the wealth of data to support their ban agenda....
