Shooting AKs Lefty

Any issues or g2g? a buddy expressed concern over the reciprocating bolt but I don't think I would have my face up on it and couldn't really see a whole lot else being an issue. Anybody have personal experience?

I’ve shot aks lefty with out any issues. My pacemaker is on my right side so l shoot everything left handed. They gave me a choice and I am more comfortable shooting lefty. So now I shoot lefty all the time. I can’t shoot on the right side any more

In many ways the AK is easier to run as a leftie. For instance, the charging handle is on the right side, and you’d use your right hand to operate it.

I shoot leftie......it's actually much easier to run. Bolt is no problem at all. I do frequently catch hot brass in the forehead or goggles

CM nailed it. The platform feels normal for the right brain folk... slight difference in technique but very easy transitions, welcome aboard comrade.

No worries there. It's equally bad no matter which side you run it from.
