Results of taking the 9 year old cast netting for shrimp. Not bad for an hour and the first time throwing a cast net. She had a ball!

I love the sidewalk with the irn benches on St. Simons that face the water. There's always a freight ship going by. The beach ain't quite as pretty as Jekyll but you can drive right up to it. Plus, there's way more stores and places to eat on Sf Simons and they don't charge you to get on the island.

It's been a good year for shrimp on the Ga coast. I usually buy 100-150lbs at a time from the boats and the prices this year are down by about 25% compared to last year. They were catching good white shrimp in June at the beginning of the season and the brown shrimp were plentiful all summer. It's white shrimp season again and everyone I've talked to is catching good size and good numbers.
