I understand completely it is not a mag dump can. But it is also marketed for several different calibers, and I would be running it on 3 or 4 different calibers, sighting in those calibers, shooting them on a regular basis, etc. Silencerco themselves have stated on forums that the Harvester can take some abuse, but no matter what it is an aluminum tube, and personally I am still taking these things into consideration. YMMV

3 rounds on a bolt gun and getting really hot does kind of worry me. I do so much more range time then hunting it's hard for me to want to get one, maybe If I did more hunting.

Well here you go - good timing. Silencerco posted about the Harvester over on SnipersHide that they are going to do some 308/556 metering tests as well as provide some info about rate of fire. So we shall see...
