Does anyone own a Smith and Wesson 1006 10mm pistol if so what do you think about it vs today's 1911's?Thanks

If you’re talking a traditional-style 1911 in 10mm, the 1006 is a stronger gun.

I own one, it's a strong smooth shooter. Don't get me wrong, I do like my 1911s as well, it depends on the use.

I love my 1006. Handles the full power 10mm better than the 1911 style since it fully supports the case. Only issue you'll find is magazine availability and cost.

Have/had quite a few 1006/1076s. Also the same with 10mm 1911s. Love the heft and feel of the Smith 10XX series. BUT.....the mags are stupidly expensive now. I puked when they hit $100, and now they are around $175-$200 each!!!

If you like 10mm and Smith, after the 10XX purchase, next will be the Smith 610 Pre Lock!
